DAY 4 : SABBATH REST IN GOD'S GREEN NATURE

We spent the Sabbath hanging out by Grand Lake in Colorado. Apparently Gian had been begging to go swimming since the morning so when Christine changed the kids into their board shorts and bathing suits, they went wild. Thanks, family, for taking care of Gian while I slept.

Funny story: this morning Brandon and Atelei hopped on bikes to head down the hill and into town to get more water for our RV. They didn't take into consideration the fact that our campsite is situated on a hill overlooking the lake. So when they had loaded their backpacks with two one-gallon water jugs and one two-gallon water jug and began the trip back home they realized that they might not make it. They stopped once to readjust their heavy packs and catch their breath because of the high altitude before trying once again to bike home. They made it, by the way.

This mountain lakeside village is full to capacity this weekend for a Colorado holiday so we had a bit of trouble finding a quiet spot for the kids to swim and for us to relax. But Atelei and Brandon persevered and we found an idyllic spot after a bit of lakeside hunting. SIDENOTE: we got a lot of interesting looks from people because we're traveling in an RV. Most RVers tow a car so that when they head to town they can take the smaller vehicle. Oops. Next year we'll be more prepared!
